Hearts stopped at Titurah Hill today when what began as a peaceful family outing turned into every parent's nightmare. A two-year-old toddler fell into a 4-meter deep pit at the ancient archaeological site near Modi'in, Israel, triggering an immediate emergency response.

In a display of swift courage, Avi Deblinger, who heads United Hatzalah's Modi'in branch, descended into the pit himself to reach the trapped child. The rescue operation unfolded at the historic site, which rises 300 meters above sea level at the northern end of Emek Ayalon Street.

"The toddler is fully conscious and stable," reported United Hatzalah officials after the rescue. Despite the harrowing depth of the fall, medical teams found the child had remarkably escaped serious injury. The young patient was transported to a nearby hospital for thorough examination.

The incident cast a spotlight on both the risks present at archaeological sites and the readiness of local emergency services. As families left Titurah Hill this evening, the ancient stones stood witness to what could have been a tragedy, transformed instead into a story of relief and successful rescue.
