Rabbi Haim Yosef David Abergel survives near-fatal crash 

A miraculous escape unfolded late last night (Wednesday to Thursday) near Netivot, as Rabbi Chaim Yosef David Abergel survived a severe car accident with only minor injuries .

The rabbi, on his way back from a Torah class in the city of Ashdod, was lightly injured after being hit in the leg. The driver was also lightly injured. Rescue forces and firefighters sawed off the doors of the vehicle, and rescued the rabbi and the driver, who were trapped in their places, and the injured were evacuated to the trauma room at Soroka Hospital in Be'er Sheva.

The Israel Fire and Rescue Service – Netivot Station spokesperson said: A car accident with trapped people near Moshav Yoshivia, the 102 call center of the Southern District received a report of a road accident between two vehicles, in which there are trapped people near Moshav Yoshivia.

The public is called upon to petition in prayer for Rabbi Chaim Yosef David ben Geula for a complete healing among the rest of Israel's patients.

It should be noted that 15 years ago, his father, Rabbi Yoram Abergel zt"l, survived a horrific and difficult car accident at the Yad Mordechai junction, and came out of it with a great miracle, and even then Rabbi Yoram zt"l returned from the exact same Torah lesson in Ashdod, which his son the Chida gave this evening.
