The Democratic Senator from Pennsylvania, who has been one of the few members of his party to openly back Israel and Prime Minister Netanyahu, was given a silver beeper, inspired by a significant Israeli military operation.

Netanyahu, along with his wife Sara, hosted Fetterman and his wife Gisele at the Prime Minister’s office in Jerusalem. The meeting was a moment of mutual respect and appreciation, with Netanyahu highlighting Fetterman’s vocal and consistent support for Israel, especially in contrast to much of his party. As one of the most outspoken Democratic senators on Israel’s side, Fetterman has notably expressed support for Netanyahu’s hardline government during a time of political tensions.

The prime minister presented Fetterman with the silver beeper, a symbolic gesture rooted in Israel’s military history. The beeper is inspired by a successful operation conducted by the Israeli military in the previous year, which involved the mass detonation of thousands of Hezbollah communication devices. The gesture reflects Israel’s commitment to safeguarding its security and sending a message to adversaries. Interestingly, Netanyahu had presented a similar gift—a golden beeper—to former U.S. President Donald Trump during a recent visit to the White House, emphasizing the significance of these gifts in diplomatic relations.

In return, Fetterman handed Netanyahu a personal and meaningful gift—a framed news article from 1986. The article recounts Netanyahu’s visit to a memorial for his late brother, Yoni, who was tragically killed during the raid on Entebbe. The thoughtful exchange of gifts showcased the mutual respect between the two leaders, highlighting Fetterman’s enduring relationship with Israel.

This meeting between Netanyahu and Fetterman underscores the strong bond between Israel and the United States, despite ongoing political divides within the U.S. Senate. With Fetterman’s continued support, Israel remains hopeful for a stable relationship with influential members of Congress moving forward.
