The visit spotlighted the unit’s critical role amid rising tensions, with Netanyahu warning of a potential “larger and more intense” front in the region as Israel battles Hamas in Gaza.

During the tour, Netanyahu received a detailed briefing from the unit’s commander, identified only as Chief Supt. “K,” on its extensive operations since the war’s outbreak. The elite squad showcased its unique tactical capabilities and equipment, performing drills simulating the high-stakes scenarios they face in Judea and Samaria. Engaging directly with the fighters, Netanyahu expressed admiration for their determination, professionalism, and personal sacrifices in safeguarding Israeli citizens. “You penetrate deep, throw the terrorist enemy off balance, and deal with them,” he told them, calling their work “sacred” for the nation.

In his closing remarks, Netanyahu underscored the unit’s strategic importance. “I’m here at the Judea and Samaria undercover unit—this is the tip of our spear,” he said. “They disrupt the terrorist enemy and handle them with precision. This is vital always, but especially now. While we wage a fierce war against Hamas in Gaza, we’re alert to the possibility of a bigger front opening here.” He praised the synergy between Magav, the Israel Police, the IDF, and special units, crediting their collaboration with delivering “immense results” for public safety.

The visit, attended by Netanyahu’s chief of staff Tzachi Braverman, military secretary Maj. Gen. Roman Gofman, and spokesperson Dr. Omer Dostri, came as the IDF ramps up operations across multiple theaters. With the undercover unit’s covert missions targeting terror cells, Netanyahu’s message was clear: their efforts are a linchpin in Israel’s defense strategy, bracing for whatever 2025 may bring. “You give us tremendous outcomes for the security of Israel’s citizens,” he concluded.
