Islamic Jihad Spokesman "Abu Hamza" Killed in IDF Strike on Gaza Camp
This is a developing story. More details will be provided as they become available.

IDF airstrikes rocked the Strip overnight, killing over 300 Palestinians (according to Hamas)—including key Hamas operatives—according to local reports, and shattering a fragile ceasefire. Amid the chaos, mediators are pushing to restart hostage negotiations, though Israel insists talks will now unfold “under fire” until its captives are freed.
The escalation follows the breakdown of prior ceasefire discussions, prompting Israel to unleash a barrage of strikes targeting Hamas infrastructure across Gaza.
Gaza sources report that Naji Abu Saif, known as "Abu Hamza," the military wing spokesman for Islamic Jihad, was killed in an IDF airstrike on the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza.
His concealed face has become emblematic of death threats, propaganda, public statements, and the recognizable image of Hamas’ military wing.
The attack also claimed the lives of his wife, brother, sister-in-law, and nephew, marking a significant blow to the terror group’s leadership.
Abu Saif's role as a mouthpiece for Islamic Jihad made him a high-value target. The group’s media arm amplifies its attacks, like the October 7, 2023, assault with Hamas, and losing him could disrupt their messaging, at least temporarily.
