Released hostage Noa Argamani posted a broken heart emoji earlier this morning (Tuesday) on X as a sign of her sorrow at the renewal of the fighting in the Gaza Strip.

Meanwhile, released hostage Emily Damari said on social media that "so many things are running in my head and I don't know how to let it out but my heart is mostly broken, crushed, and disappointed."

She added that "Gali, Zivi, and the rest of the hostages - we will continue to fight unendingly and do everything for you to return to us."

Itay Siegel, nephew of released hostage Kieth Siegel, read a statement from his uncle at the Knesset Constitution Committee today in response to the fighting, demanding that the country focus exclusively on freeing the hostages:

"59 hostages likely shook to death before dawn as the IDF began bombing. I will read you a message from my uncle Keith Siegel, who can probably best imagine what they are going through there. "My uncle asks to convey that the fighting in Gaza endangers the lives of the hostages and prolongs their suffering, which has already lasted 529 long and unbearable days. We must put an end to this abandonment and bring all the hostages back to the country."

After reading his request, he said: "This is the request of a person who was abandoned on October 7 and to whom the state owes everything, along with the rest of the hostages. You can say it’s political or not, but in a week, a minister who resigned from the government will return, and a few days later, he will vote on the budget. You’ve turned this into something political, and you’re using the war to ensure the government’s survival."

The IDF has often stated that it does everything possible to avoid operating in or attacking areas where they believe hostages are being held.
