Change Of Heart Or Something Else?
Donald Trump turnaround? "No-one is expelling any Palestinians"
The President made this statement in response to questions claiming that his relocation plan included the use of force to move Gazans out of the Gaza Strip.

President Donald Trump said today (Wednesday) that "no-one is expelling any Palestinians" in response to a Voice of America reporter claiming that Trump's plan to relocate dislocated Palestinians to third countries.
During a press conference with Irish Taoiseach Micheál Martin, the President responded to a question regarding Trump's plan to relocate the 2.4 million displaced Gazan civilians to third countries, especially but not exclusively in the Middle East.
Trump said that "no-one is expelling any Palestinians." While some interpret this statement as meaning a reversal of his plan, it does not necessarily contradict his plan and previous statements.
Indeed, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his government have endorsed and embraced Trump's plan with the repeated, explicit proviso that it will aim at Palestinians in Gaza who are interested in leaving the Strip voluntarily, not forcing them to leave. Prime Minister Netanyahu openly said that former Gazans can return if they so wish.
Defense Minister Israel Katz has already formed an administration which would handle the practical aspects of helping Palestinians moving from Gaza. The administration would be responsible for coordinating with the IDF and other government bodies to ensure that happens.
Those moving from Gaza will be able to leave via three possible terminals: the Rafah crossing into Egypt and beyond, Israel's Ashdod port, and Ramon airport in the Negev.
Security sources speaking to Israel Hayom said that Israel was in talks with a third country ready to take displaced Gazans, but that it has frozen those talks due to international pressure.
Egypt is meanwhile promoting an alternative plan for rebuilding the Gaza Strip without allowing any Gazans to leave, which would include ambitious urban planning following the rebuilding of devastated war-torn cities such as Hiroshima. It is also working on forming a governing body of technocrats unaffiliated with any political movement to run the Strip for the next six months.
