Attack foiled: Two Palestinians caught with M16 and full magazine
Special Patrol and Crime Investigation Units intercepted the armed suspects in Judea, preventing a potential attack.

The Judea and Samaria District Police arrested two Palestinian suspects tonight (Sunday and Monday) with an M16 rifle and a magazine full of bullets.
According to the police statement, in an offensive activity by soldiers from the Judea Region Special Patrol Unit and detectives from the Judea Region Crime Investigation Unit, the forces stopped a vehicle at the Carmel Junction in the Judea Sector that was suspected of being used to transport illegal weapons.
During the search of the vehicle, an M16 assault rifle and a magazine full of bullets that were ready for use were located and seized. The two Palestinian suspects were arrested and transferred for further interrogation to the Crime Investigation Unit in the Judea Region.
The police statement said that "the offensive activity is part of the Judea and Samaria District's uncompromising struggle against terrorism and the phenomenon of illegal weapons leakage, and the Israel Police will continue to act decisively against those elements that endanger public safety."
During the past week, security forces operated throughout Judea and Samaria to thwart terrorism, arrested 90 suspects, confiscated 14 weapons and hundreds of thousands of shekels of terror funds.
Security forces continued to operate in northern Samaria. IDF, Shin Bet and Border Police forces operated this week in new areas in Jenin where they eliminated several terrorists and arrested about 30 wanted individuals. This week, the forces destroyed three terrorists' homes and interrogated many suspects in terrorist activity.
