They are back, and off to America

This is what former captives Keith Siegel, Eli Sharabi and Naama Levy wrote on their hostage posters

A group of hostage survivors, who recently returned from the Gaza Strip, traveled to Washington for a meeting with senior officials in the U.S. government. Each of them wrote personal messages on their poster pictures, which were prepared during the period of their struggle for release (as hostages).

According to a report by Kan Reshet Bet, these heartfelt words reflect their gratitude and emotions after enduring unimaginable hardships.

Eli Sharabi, a survivor who returned to Israel as part of the first stage of the hostage deal, penned his message on Wednesday while at the "Hostages Headquarters in Washington," the U.S. capital, alongside five other survivors. On his poster, Sharabi wrote, "Lucky! I’m happy to be home," capturing his relief and joy at being reunited with his family after months of captivity. His words resonate with a sense of gratitude despite the immense personal loss he suffered, including the murder of his wife and daughters on October 7, 2023.

Naama Levy, a lookout soldier released along with three of her comrades in the second phase of the deal, expressed her emotions with equal poignancy. She wrote on her poster, "What happiness to be here. Thank you all for all the efforts!" Her message conveys overwhelming joy and appreciation for those who worked tirelessly to secure her freedom. Other survivors also left their mark: Doron Steinbrecher, freed a week earlier, wrote simply, "Back home"; Omer Shem Tov added, "How good it is just to be. Thank you for your prayers and hard work"; and on the poster of Uri Danino, who was murdered in Hamas captivity, Shem Tov inscribed, "My guardian angel. Thank you!" Keith Siegel, another survivor, wrote, "I won. You gave me the strength to survive."

The delegation’s trip, initiated by the Hostages’ Families Headquarters and Hostage Aid, aims to thank the Trump administration for its commitment to bringing all hostages home and to share firsthand accounts of the horrors endured in Hamas tunnels. They will emphasize the urgent need to return all remaining hostages immediately and in a single phase.
