The Cry Of the IDF
Outgoing IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi: Remember October 7 every day, every hour
Halevi also called for the establishment of a State Commission of Inquiry into October 7, not to cast blame but to get to the root of the matter.

Outgoing IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi called for accountability and learning lessons from October 7 in his final speech as the top officer in the Israeli army today (Wednesday).
Taking stock of the IDF's achievements in the war, Halevi also said that:
"The war is not over. Victory is a necessary goal, but we are doing more than just winning. We've taken the right actions - significantly damaging the Iranian axis, significantly lowering our strength compared to what it was. We've been hurt in human resources, significantly impacted Hezbollah and Hamas, created a significant security space in Syria, and reduced strategic capabilities in Judea and Samaria. Hamas is a dangerous organization that must be stopped but cannot be allowed to rule or build strength."
He also thanked all the commanders at all levels for their efforts and endurance during over a year of war:
"In the past year and a half, among the heaviest loads were those of battalion commanders, company commanders, and field commanders - it was never easy, and in this war, it was even more intense. I am aware of the worries, the personal challenges, the enormous responsibility.
"In the name of the IDF and in my name, I thank you for the initiative, the assistance, and the internal support. Few understand the depth of effort in this period."
He ended by saying that:
"The IDF is an army. It is also a strong, powerful army. Its strength is its governmental nature, its unwavering and independent character. It belongs to no one but the people. Many good people have passed through this significant role. The opportunity is yours, and I believe and know that you can handle the challenges ahead.
"Keep October 7th before your eyes, every day, every hour, in your heart and stature."
