IDF responds with precision: Terrorist eliminated after attack on soldiers
On Tuesday afternoon, a terrorist armed with a knife arrived at a checkpoint near the village of Burqa, located at the entrance to Homesh in the Samaria region. The terrorist opened fire at IDF soldiers stationed at the checkpoint, prompting a swift response from the troops.

The soldiers, acting with precision, returned fire and eliminated the assailant on the spot. Thankfully, no IDF soldiers were injured in the exchange.
The IDF later issued a statement confirming the incident, saying, "A short while ago, a terrorist fired toward IDF soldiers at a checkpoint near Burqa. The forces responded with fire and eliminated the terrorist. No IDF injuries were reported." This attack serves as a reminder of the ongoing security challenges in the region, particularly in areas like Judea and Samaria, which have seen rising tensions and incidents of violence.
Yossi Dagan, the head of the Samaria Regional Council, expressed his concerns following the attack, emphasizing the need for stronger action against terrorism in Samaria. He described the incident as a "painful reminder" that terrorism in Judea and Samaria is still a significant threat, warning that the region should be treated with the same level of urgency as the Gaza front. Dagan called for the restoration of security checkpoints, large-scale military operations, and the collection of illegal weapons in the area. He also stressed the importance of dismantling the terrorist infrastructure supported by the Palestinian Authority, which he believes incites and aids terrorist activities.
Dagan further urged the Israeli government to adopt a tougher stance, stating, "Pre-October 2023 is here in Judea and Samaria—we must strike at terrorism like we did in Gaza." He expressed support for the IDF soldiers' actions and called on the government to take decisive steps to eliminate terror in the region with an "iron fist."
