Moving call
WATCH: Benjamin Netanyahu spoke with ex-hostage Eli Sharabi: "I'm sorry it took a long time"
Netanyahu: "We fought hard to get you out." Sharabi: "I thank you for all the efforts you are making in this direction"

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke with Eli Sharabi, a recently released hostage, apologizing for the prolonged ordeal he endured while in Hamas captivity. The exchange comes as Israel continues its push to free the remaining hostages still held in Gaza.
Netanyahu apologized: "I understand the magnitude of the loss, it's a terrible thing. I also want you to know that I'm sorry that it took us so long. We fought hard to get you out, and your brother and the entire family struggled hard, too. Sharon was in close contact with me all the time.
The prime minister added: "I tried to talk to you about 10 days ago and I'm glad it's happening now. I very much appreciate the courageous way you tell about what you went through, and it's very important that you tell President Trump about it.
I wish you a good trip and when you come back I would be happy if we could meet when possible. We hug you with all our hearts."
Eli Sharabi: "I'm happy to be at home and reunited with my family. The rest of the hostages, certainly alive, need to urgently return home to their families.
"And of course, the rest of the martyred hostages, including my brother Yossi, to bring them back for burial in Israel so that there will be a grave for their families to cry over.
I thank you for all the efforts you are making in this direction. Sharon and I will do our best vis-à-vis President Trump, and perhaps with joint efforts we will bring this whole saga to an end."
Prime Minister Netanyahu responded: "That's the goal — and I want you to know that we don't let go of it for a moment, including at the moment I'm talking to you."
