ZAKA steps in to retrieve body of young Israeli from Sinai
Tragedy strikes in Sinai: Young Israeli found dead while on vacation
The ZAKA International Unit provides identification, support, and assistance for disaster victims. Recently, an Israeli man in his 30s was found dead during a vacation in Sinai, and ZAKA Unit 360 worked swiftly to ensure his prompt burial.

A few days ago, the ZAKA Unit 360 operations center received a report about an Israeli man in his 30s who was found dead while on vacation in Sharm El-Sheikh. Upon receiving the information, the unit immediately mobilized, working alongside the Deputy Ambassador of Israel in Egypt, the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and other relevant authorities, to ensure that the deceased's body would be returned to Israel as quickly as possible. Last night, the body was transferred through the Taba crossing and then brought to the Abu Kabir Forensic Institute for further examination.
With the help of ZAKA Unit 360 volunteers and Rabbi Asher Landau, the head of the Forensic Institute, the body of the deceased was released for burial. It is expected that the burial will take place today before sunset.
Elchanan Roth, Commander of ZAKA Unit 360, stated:
"From the moment we received the notification about the Israeli citizen, we worked tirelessly at the family’s request to assist them in coping with the heartbreaking news. We then coordinated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Deputy Ambassador in Egypt, and the relevant authorities to ensure the swift return of the body to Israel. We are standing by the family during this difficult time, providing them with the necessary support. ZAKA Unit 360 will continue its dedicated efforts to ensure the dignity of the deceased and to assist families in their most challenging moments."
The ZAKA Unit 360 operates both in Israel and abroad to ensure proper and respectful handling of cases like this and to provide support to families facing heavy tragedies.
