Israel pushing against potential rise in terrorism

Hamas calls for uprising: Tensions explode over Israel’s plan to limit worshippers at Al-Aqsa during Ramadan

Hamas has escalated tensions ahead of Ramadan, strongly condemning Israel’s decision to limit the number of worshippers allowed into the Al-Aqsa Mosque for Friday prayers during the holy month.

Israel’s plan permits only 10,000 people to enter the Al-Aqsa mosque for prayers, a move that Hamas describes as "a new escalation against the Palestinian people and the holy sites."

The group has warned that this decision sets a "dangerous precedent," which they claim is designed to undermine the freedom of worship at one of Islam’s holiest sites. Hamas firmly declared that Israel’s actions would not erase the Al-Aqsa Mosque’s Islamic identity, asserting that it remains an Islamic holy site and will continue to be one, despite Israeli occupation. They stressed that the Palestinian people and the broader Islamic community would not rest until they have fully liberated the mosque from what they term the "impurity of occupation."

In a statement, Hamas further cautioned Israel against proceeding with its plan, holding the country "fully responsible for the consequences of its policy." They accused Israel of taking steps to provoke further unrest and tension in the region.

Hamas has also appealed to the international community to intervene, urging them to put a stop to Israel’s actions and to support the Muslim community’s right to freely worship at Al-Aqsa. They have called for the Muslim public in Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria, as well as those in Israel, to mobilize and pray at the mosque during Ramadan. Furthermore, they have encouraged resistance to what they see as Israel’s efforts to desecrate the site and allow extremists to take control.

The conflict surrounding the Al-Aqsa Mosque is a highly sensitive issue, with religious, cultural, and political tensions simmering, particularly during Ramadan, a time of heightened religious observance for Muslims.
