To Bomb Or Not To Bomb...That Is The Question
IDF Chief of Staff brags about thinking to bomb Nasrallah's funeral
Footage shown exclusively for Channel 14 shows IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi admitting and perhaps even bragging that the IDF was considering launching an air strike to hit at least some of those attending the funeral.

IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi hinted at and even implicitly bragged about considering an air strike on Hassan Nasrallah's funeral this week, according to footage shown exclusively tonight (Wednesday) for Channel 14 News.
Herzi Halevi recently shared an intriguing hint during a talk with cadets at the 1st Infantry Division. He mentioned stepping out to his car for a 10- to 15-minute consultation, teasing the audience with, "Want to guess what about? Nasrallah’s funeral—we’re undecided."
When he playfully asked the crowd what the decision involved, they responded with "To attack," to which he smiled and said, "You understand. Who’s in favor?" It’s a rare, candid peek into the military’s deliberations, showing how seriously they weighed their options.
This was about Hassan Nasrallah, the former Hezbollah leader killed in an Israeli airstrike in September 2024. His funeral, held on February 23, 2025, in Beirut, drew massive attention—along with that of his would-be successor, Hashem Safieddine, who was also eliminated in a later strike. During those funerals, Israeli jets didn’t just sit idle: they buzzed overhead, making a loud statement that disrupted the ceremonies. Halevi’s comments, though, suggest they debated going further than a mere show of force.
In the end, no attack occurred at the funeral itself, as some suggested and recommended. Instead, hours earlier, the IDF struck a Hezbollah military site in southern Lebanon, packed with rocket launchers and weapons. Some online reports claim it was nestled in a residential area—details that often spark debate. Halevi’s hint reveals the tension behind the scenes: a high-stakes call that could have dramatically altered the day’s outcome. It’s a reminder of how every move is calculated, even if the jets only circled that time.
IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi also made a rare statement regarding the increasing threat from Egypt:
We are very concerned about this (the Egyptian threat). This is not at the top of our priorities...We have to give priority to our problems. Egypt has a large army. It has advanced weapons, advanced aircraft, advanced submarines, and missile ships.
A very large number of advanced tanks and ground forces. We believe that this is not a threat now, but this situation can change in a moment. In 2011, Morsi took power with the Muslim Brotherhood. Suddenly, this entire army had another leadership, which could have suddenly turned against you.
