Breaking: Israel makes rare demand as hostages' bodies are released tonight – What you need to know
The four slain hostages held by Hamas will be transferred to the Red Cross in Khan Younis tonight and then moved to Kerem Shalom, where 604 Palestinian prisoners will be released. However, the actual release will occur only after the identification of the hostages, and there will be no "ceremony" by Hamas, as demanded by Israel.

The release of the four slain Israeli hostages' bodies is poised to mark a crucial moment in the ongoing negotiations between Israel and Hamas. However, despite initial reports suggesting that both the bodies and prisoners would be released simultaneously, Israeli officials have made it clear that the release of Palestinian prisoners will only occur after the identification of the four slain hostages is confirmed. This step is vital to ensuring that Hamas honors the terms of the agreement and does not repeat past violations.
Previously, Hamas had breached the terms of a previous hostage deal by releasing the body of a Gazan woman but withholding that of Shiri Bibas. This breach created significant tensions, leading Israel to delay the release of Palestinian prisoners. The Israeli government is determined not to allow such violations this time around. They have demanded that the release be conducted with no ceremony or public display, ensuring that Hamas adheres to the agreed-upon conditions.
According to Ariel Kahana, the bodies of the hostages will be transferred from Khan Younis to the Red Cross and then taken to Kerem Shalom. Upon the bodies' arrival in Israel, 604 Palestinian prisoners will board buses en route to their release. However, as the security source revealed to Israel Hayom, the release of the prisoners will only happen after the identification of the four slain hostages, ensuring that the agreement is fulfilled without further complications. This careful approach aims to avoid any missteps and maintain the integrity of the deal.
