Edy Cohen: Here's what Israel should do during Nasrallah's funeral today
Middle East Expert Edy Cohen discussed Israel's options for disrupting the funeral for the arch-terrorist and his immediate successor.

Dr. Edy Cohen interviewed today (Sunday) for Channel 14's morning show "Israel This Morning," where he discussed Israel's options for disrupting the funeral of arch-terrorist, former Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah set to take place today.
Dr. Cohen, a Middle East expert, said he did not expect Israel to actually act in the area of the funeral, even though they know where it's taking place and what they are capable of doing to the funeral full of senior and junior terrorists attending.
Cohen himself suggested that Israel not conduct a strike but rather conduct sonic booms to disrupt the funeral, in much the same way that Israel has done flybys during speeches by Hezbollah leaders or even in general to demonstrate Israeli power.
Dr. Cohen also noted that Defense Minister Katz was making too many threats towards Lebanon without acting upon them, undermining his credibility in the country.
The IDF eliminated both Hassan Nasrallah and his immediate successor, Hashem Safieddine, as part of a general escalation following months of low-level warfare following October 7 and Hezbollah's joining of the war.
During that period, Israel was subjected to daily barrages of rockets and anti-tank missiles in its northern areas, to the point that tens of thousands of northern residents were forced to be evacuated to hotels and apartments in the center area of the country.
At first, Israel conducted low level strikes against Hezbollah operatives and structures in southern Lebanon. By the summer, following the reported success of the offensive against Hamas forces in Gaza, the IDF turned north and proceeded to systematically eliminate Hezbollah's entire senior leadership - including Hassan Nasrallah himself, who did not believe that Israel wanted to escalate to such a degree.
The funeral will take place 1:00 PM Israel time in Lebanon. Multiple terrorists plan to take part and Iranian senior officers are reportedly trying to arrive to pay their respects, despite Israel's veto on Iranian planes reaching the country, to prevent the terrorist organization from receiving any additional funding.
