Devastating Hostage Twist

Netanyahu vows revenge after Hamas returns wrong body

Where is Shiri Bibas? Does Hamas even know? And why are they playing games with the ceasefire they need so badly?

In a chilling development that has shaken Israel, Hamas returned an unidentified woman's body instead of Israeli hostage Shiri Bibas, prompting Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to promise severe consequences on Friday morning.

"The cruelty of these Hamas monsters knows no bounds," Netanyahu declared. "Not only did they kidnap the father, Yarden Bibas, but in an unimaginable act of cynicism, they failed to return Shiri alongside her little children, these little angels, and instead placed a Gazan woman's body in the coffin."

The grim revelation came after forensic experts confirmed the identities of Shiri's young sons, Ariel and Kfir Bibas, who were "brutally murdered in captivity in November 2023," according to Israeli military intelligence. This latest psychological manipulation by Hamas has forced Israeli leadership into a critical dilemma: whether to cancel the entire hostage exchange deal, which would delay Saturday's planned return of six more hostages, or maintain the agreement despite Hamas's devastating breach of trust.

Military sources indicate the IDF currently favors proceeding with the deal, primarily due to urgent concerns about the remaining hostages' welfare. However, there are growing fears that continuing the exchange could signal weakness and damage Israel's deterrence against Hamas and other terrorist organizations.

"We will ensure Hamas pays the full price for this cruel and evil breach," Netanyahu added. "God will avenge their blood. And we will too."

The Bibas family has become a powerful symbol of the October 7 attacks, after footage of their kidnapping from Kibbutz Nir Oz circulated worldwide. The IDF has demanded Hamas immediately return Shiri's remains along with all remaining hostages, calling this incident "a most severe violation" of the agreement.
