Turmoil In The Knesset
MK Ofer Cassif compares Trump relocation plan to Nazis
The controversial Knesset Member's statement has led to renewed calls for his removal from the Knesset, after a previous effort fell five votes shy of success.

Israeli MK Ofer Cassif published a post early this morning (Tuesday) comparing Donald Trump's plan to relocate displaced Gazans with the Nazi plans to deport European Jews, causing a firestorm.
In his post, Cassif wrote: "This month, exactly 86 years ago, the Central Office For The Emigration of Jews was established in Berlin in order to encourage voluntary emigration of German Jews."
He attached a picture of Jews lining up at the office's branch in Vienna, in 1938.
Yisrael Beytenu MK Oded Forer published a strong rebuke of this statement, also on X:
"Ofer Cassif is a boundless anti-Israel propagandist. His comparison between the voluntary departure of Gaza residents fleeing from the terror of Hamas, which condemned them to life under a regime of terror, blood and fire, to the persecution of Jews in Nazi Germany is not only a malicious lie—it is a despicable blood libel.
"After a Nazi terrorist state developed and grew in Gaza (Nazi propaganda was an integral part of Hamas's terror apparatus), the most natural and moral thing is for the international community to allow Gaza residents who are fed up with terrorism to start new lives in other countries. But Cassif cannot be confused with facts—his fondness for using symbols of the Third Reich competes only with his crazy obsession to harm the State of Israel and serve the enemy's propaganda. I ask for the millionth time whether he is a member of Knesset or an official spokesperson for Hamas?
"One thing is certain, he should not be sitting in the Knesset of Israel!"
Meanwhile, MK Itamar Ben-Gvir and his Otzmah Yehudit Party submitted a law proposal reducing the needed majority to remove Knesset Members from 90 to 80, after the previous attempt to remove Cassif failed to reach the 90-vote threshold by just five votes.
