According to the updated forecast, snowfall is not expected on Thursday or Friday in most of the mountainous areas, except for the higher peaks in northern Israel. In response to the weather warnings, the Jerusalem Municipality is going into emergency mode, preparing for the heavy snowfall and freezing temperatures. A total of 140 construction and engineering vehicles will be deployed across the city to ensure snow removal and safe roads. Additionally, the municipality has activated a continuous urban command center to oversee operations, and the 106 hotline will be reinforced for residents seeking information or assistance.

Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Lion emphasized the importance of caution during the cold weather, urging residents to avoid unnecessary travel, especially by car. He stressed the need for safety, both on the roads and in public spaces, as the cold wave could create dangerous conditions.

The city's municipal emergency headquarters will coordinate efforts between various agencies, including police, MDA, fire and rescue, public transportation, and utilities like the electricity company and the Gihon Corporation. Their mission will be to minimize risk to residents and support emergency services throughout the cold weather event. As preparations continue, residents are advised to stay updated on the situation and take necessary precautions.
