The suspects, residents of the Israeli-Arab towns of Zemer and Qalansawe in central Israel, were arrested after an undercover investigation led by Shin Bet and Border Police forces.

The investigation revealed that the two suspects, who reportedly expressed support for Hamas following the October 7 massacre, began planning a series of attacks targeting Israeli military and civilian sites. These attacks included a shooting at a military facility, a ramming attack, and shooting civilians or IDF soldiers.

Furthermore, one of the suspects reportedly purchased raw materials to make firebombs and even experimented with creating explosives to blow up a bus carrying IDF soldiers. The discovery of these plans highlighted the severity of the threats posed by the suspects and their intent to carry out violence against Israel.

The arrests come at a time of heightened security concerns in Israel, and the investigation underscores the ongoing threat of terrorism within the country. Following the arrests, the Central District Prosecutor’s Office filed an indictment against the two suspects on Thursday, signaling that the authorities are moving forward with legal action in response to the planned attacks.

The successful operation by Shin Bet and the Israel Police highlights the continued vigilance and efforts of Israeli security forces to prevent terror attacks within the country, particularly those targeting IDF soldiers and civilians. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities continue to assess the full extent of the suspects' plans and connections.
