Hamas Abuse Pushed Hostages to the Brink of Death
Horrifying Report: Released Hostages were just "weeks from cardiac arrest" due to starvation
Reports regarding the release of male hostages on Shabbos have raised grave concerns about the conditions in which hostages are being held by Hamas. A security source speaking to Maariv on Wednesday revealed the dire state of the male hostages, stating that their conditions were extremely severe and that they were suffering from severe starvation.

The source expressed doubt that the hostages could survive for much longer in their current circumstances.
"The condition of the male hostages is extremely severe," the source explained. "They are suffering from severe starvation. It’s doubtful whether they can hold out for another month or months."
Particularly troubling were the reports about the three male hostages who were released on Shabbat. According to the security source, these hostages were in serious condition due to prolonged starvation, having lost twenty percent of their body weight. The source added, “They were weeks away from cardiac arrest due to starvation,” emphasizing the critical nature of their condition.
The source further confirmed that the male hostages under the age of fifty, including soldiers, are enduring the most severe abuse. These hostages are reportedly being subjected to sadistic treatment at the hands of their captors. Hamas views all male hostages up to the age of fifty as "soldiers in the occupying army," subjecting them to even more brutal conditions.
Testimonies from the released hostages also painted a grim picture of their captivity. They revealed that for most of their time in captivity, they were confined to tunnels, unable to move or walk, further highlighting the extent of their suffering.
This information has deepened fears in Israel over the well-being of the abducted soldiers and young men, who are enduring extreme deprivation and abuse at the hands of Hamas.
