Former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson addressed the future of Gaza today at the World Government Summit, taking aim at recent proposals while outlining his own vision for the region.

Johnson mockingly dismissed suggestions about relocating Gaza's population, specifically referencing Mar-a-Lago as a potential resettlement location. "It would be absolutely a fantastic place if you wanted to resettle millions of people from the Middle East," he remarked, emphasizing that Gaza's current inhabitants have legal rights to remain there.

Addressing governance issues, Johnson stated that the current situation "where Gaza is governed by a government that seeks to destroy Israel" cannot continue. He noted that living conditions for Gaza's residents have not "notably improved under the rule of Hamas" since 2005.

Despite these criticisms, Johnson highlighted Gaza's "great potential" and strategic location, suggesting possibilities for future development in the region.

These comments come amid ongoing international discussions about Gaza's future governance and reconstruction. Johnson's remarks addressed both immediate governance challenges and longer-term development prospects for the region.
