"The new Gaza war will be different"
Israel Katz makes major threat to Hamas: "Gates of Hell will be opened upon them" If Hostages aren’t released
Israel’s Defense Minister, Israel Katz, issued a stark warning to Hamas during a security consultation on Wednesday at the Operations Division Command Center. Katz, alongside Major General Oded Basiuk and Brigadier General Israel Shomer, discussed Israel’s military preparedness for the renewal of conflict in Gaza.

Katz made it clear that the current situation would not stand if Hamas fails to release Israeli hostages by the upcoming Saturday deadline.
“If Hamas does not release the Israeli hostages by Saturday, the gates of hell will be opened upon them, just as U.S. President Donald Trump has promised,” Katz declared. The minister stressed that this new phase of war would differ significantly in intensity from the previous conflict before the ceasefire. Katz emphasized that Israel’s objective is to defeat Hamas completely and secure the release of all hostages, without which the war would not end.
Katz further explained that any ceasefire agreement made with Hamas was intended to facilitate the swift release of the Israeli hostages, who are currently being held under dire conditions in Gaza. In return for this release, Israel had agreed to certain heavy concessions. However, Katz was adamant that if Hamas ceased cooperation and stopped releasing hostages, there would be no agreement and the military campaign would resume.
This marked a critical moment in Israel’s stance towards Hamas. Katz confirmed that the upcoming war, should Hamas fail to meet the deadline, would not only be more intense but would also seek to achieve broader objectives, including the realization of U.S. President Donald Trump’s vision for Gaza. This vision includes a long-term strategy for peace and security in the region, which will not be possible without the complete defeat of Hamas and the return of all hostages.
The remarks signal that Israel is preparing for an even more aggressive new phase of the war, which will focus on eradicating the threat posed by Hamas and ensuring the safety of its citizens.
