The IDF is changing the reality in the areas where it has been stationed in Syria and is preparing for a long stay in the country. In recent days and weeks, the IDF has identified the entry of the new Syrian regime into the Syrian countryside and towns close to the border. So far, there is no friction between the IDF forces in the area in Syrian territory and the forces of the new regime.

The military opened traffic arteries between the border fence and the Syrian outposts taken over by IDF forces in order to prevent uncontrolled friction with Syrian civilians.

At the same time, the IDF removed the groves and forests in various areas and created an exposing in order to increase the ability to control the area.

The IDF has significantly upgraded the Syrian outposts and turned them into Israeli outposts, while introducing into the outposts buildings and technological means that will enable a long stay in the buffer zone. The Qodna post was one of the fortresses built by the Syrian army before the Yom Kippur War. The IDF tried to conquer it without success in the Yom Kippur War, but failed. The "Syrian pita" in Qodna controlled the area of the central Golan. The attack positions were directed westward toward Israel.

When the IDF entered the buffer zone and entered the Qudna post, it moved eastward, crossed the wadi that reaches Quneitra, crossed the village of Qudna and ascended through the rear of the post from the Syrian side. Within weeks, the Northern Command managed to "turn" the outpost and the route was breached from the Israeli side to the center of the post. The observation and fire system was aimed eastwards towards Syria and less towards Israel. The crossings to the east were blocked, and the IDF created an isolation on the nearby road so that the local population would not approach the military forces.

A few days ago, a group of dignitaries arrived at the post and asked the commander of the 74th Armored Battalion, Lt. Col. A., who is the commander of the sector, for urgent help. They told him that they had not had a regular supply of water for weeks. When the battalion commander asked the reason for this, the builders clarified that the pump to the central well had stopped working due to a malfunction months ago, while Syrian army soldiers were in control of the area. When the battalion commander asked where the pump that supplied water to all the houses of the nearby villages and town was located, the dignitaries explained to him that it was in the center of the outpost's yard.

Assad's army knew how to control the breaking of the water. This is how he ruled over the citizens with cruelty. Every post in the sector has a water pump that supplies water to the residents. The battalion commander quickly called the staff of the brigade's logistics department and within hours they used the pump that replenishes the water in the taps to the residents.
