Named Joint Task Force 10-7 (JTF 10-7), the initiative underscores America's commitment to bringing terrorists and their supporters to justice.

Under the supervision of the Deputy Attorney General, JTF 10-7 is set to coordinate high-level investigations and prosecutions targeting individuals and organizations connected to Hamas. This includes not only those directly involved in terrorist activities but also individuals and groups providing financial support or engaging in criminal operations within U.S. borders. The task force will collaborate closely with Israeli authorities, ensuring smooth intelligence-sharing and coordination in counterterrorism efforts.

The key priorities of JTF 10-7 include:

Pursuing the arrest and extradition of Hamas leaders who have been indicted in the U.S. and are facing serious federal charges.
Investigating and prosecuting antisemitic hate crimes and terrorist activities targeting Jewish Americans, particularly on college campuses where extremist rhetoric has sparked violence.
Identifying and targeting financial networks that fund Hamas operations, both domestically and internationally. This includes examining foreign banks with ties to Hamas.
Cooperating with Israeli and international partners to facilitate the safe return of hostages taken during the October 7 attack.

To facilitate the task force's operations, it will bring together experts from the FBI, the Department of Treasury, the IRS, and the National Security Division. The FBI will deploy agents with specialized knowledge in terrorism-related investigations. U.S. Attorneys' Offices across the nation will also be involved in ensuring the prosecution of those responsible for supporting Hamas.

Furthermore, the Justice Department has lifted certain restrictions, allowing the task force to issue subpoenas more rapidly, particularly targeting foreign financial institutions involved in funding Hamas. The Office of Legislative Affairs is also working to expand counterterrorism laws, enabling prosecution for terror-related offenses beyond traditional geographic boundaries.

JTF 10-7 represents a robust and coordinated effort by the U.S. to combat Hamas' global terror network and bring justice to the victims of its attacks.
