The family shared their bittersweet news, expressing both relief and devastation. "We are happy and excited to know that Alon is alive," they said, "but we are also horrified by the physical and mental condition Alon is in and the abuse he, along with other hostages, are still enduring." The family emphasized the dire need for action, stating that Alon has "survived hell so far" but has no time to spare. They called on leaders to act swiftly to ensure the release of all hostages, urging that humanitarian efforts must be prioritized.

Since his abduction, Alon has been held in harsh conditions in Hamas’s tunnels, without sunlight and access to basic necessities. The family revealed that Alon has been enduring severe food shortages and is in dire need of medical attention for his eye injuries. These revelations paint a grim picture of the suffering Alon and other hostages are experiencing under Hamas’s captivity.

As Alon’s 24th birthday approaches, his family is pushing for immediate action from the Israeli government. "Tomorrow, Alon will celebrate his 24th birthday while being held captive by Hamas," they said. "We call on the Prime Minister, the Cabinet, and the Government of Israel—time is running out. The second phase of the deal must be advanced to return all the hostages."

The family is also inviting the public to gather at the Hostages’ Square on Monday, February 10th, at 7:00 PM to celebrate Alon’s birthday and to raise awareness for the urgent need to bring him and all hostages home. The spokesperson for the Families' Headquarters for the Return of the Hostages has made it clear: the release of the hostages cannot be delayed.
