The announcement was made on Sunday via the group's Telegram channels. Handala, notorious for targeting Israeli institutions, has intensified its cyberattacks, especially since the onset of the ongoing conflict.

The data allegedly stolen includes a wide range of sensitive information. According to reports, it comprises email addresses, gun licenses, photos of police officers along with their personal numbers, classified documents, and personal information about suspects and convicted criminals. This also includes details about sex offender employment permits. Handala claims to have accessed personal files of police officers, including psychological profiles and other private data.

Moreover, the hackers assert that they have successfully infiltrated the servers of the Israeli Ministry of National Security, signaling an escalation in the sophistication of their cyberattacks.

This recent breach is just the latest in a series of high-profile cyber incidents attributed to Handala. The group has previously targeted various Israeli entities, including the Elad municipality, the Ramat Gan Academic College, and numerous other systems. However, their most infamous attack occurred two weeks ago when they successfully compromised the emergency alert system in Israel's educational institutions. This hack led to the dispatch of tens of thousands of false terror alerts to citizens, causing widespread panic and confusion.

In response to the latest claims, the Israel Police issued a statement indicating that, as of now, they have not detected any direct penetration into their systems. According to their assessment, the breach likely involved third-party entities that receive information from the police. An investigation into the matter is ongoing.

This incident highlights the growing threat of cyber warfare, especially in the context of escalating geopolitical tensions. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the vulnerability of critical national infrastructure and the potential for hackers to disrupt public safety and privacy. With cyberattacks increasingly becoming a tool of warfare, both state-sponsored and independent hacking groups are likely to continue targeting sensitive systems globally.
