Hamas Is a Fanatical Enemy and Israel Has a Right to Self-Defense

Hamas — the terrorist organization that rules the beach resort that is the Gaza Strip — is an existential threat to Israel. The charter they wrote, the actions they took, and the horrific massacre of October 7th, 2023 broadcast a fanatical zeal for Israel’s annihilation. This is not a war over land or borders, this is a matter of survival against an enemy whose goal is nothing less than the destruction of the Jewish state.

Hamas’s charter denies the existence of Israel, insisting that all land is Islamic. This rules out any option of compromise or coexistence. Their words are based on decades of terror: suicide bombings, rocket barrages and the recent atrocities that appalled the world. These are not the actions of a political movement aspiring for self-determination; they are the marks of a death cult hell-bent on genocide.

The attacks of October 7th 2023 were a watershed moment. The world saw Hamas for what it really is: the indiscriminate slaughter of civilians, the sadistic torture, the kidnapping of innocents. Such acts unveiled the hypocrisy of Hamas’s feigned concern for Palestinians. They enslave their own people as human shields, sacrificing them for propaganda, so that the leaders get rich.

It's a sad state of affairs when we see anti - Israel protests here in Australia on a scale the world has never seen before, in support of these terrorists and their goal to wipe Israel off the face of the earth. 

Hamas isn’t after peace; it’s after victory. Their military wing, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, is financed and armed by Iran to wage war against Israel. They shoot rockets randomly at civilian locations, they drill tunnels for terror attacks, they rejoice over the killing of the innocent.” And their grip on Gaza is a strategic asset, enabling them to take a population hostage and pummel Israeli cities.

Hamas brainwashes generations of Palestinians to hate. This is a never-ending cycle. They have spurned compromise, peaceful solutions. Their objective is the annihilation of Israel, and they will stop at nothing to get it.

The world must call Hamas what it is: a terror group committed to genocide. Those who try to appease or legitimize Hamas are complicit in their crimes. Israel has the right, even the duty, to protect itself from this existential threat.

Israel’s fight is not only its own. It is a staging ground in the war on radical Islam, a struggle for the values of freedom and democracy in the face of the forces of darkness. Supporting Israel is not merely a political obligation; it is a responsibility grounded in morality. We must stand with Israel against those who seek to destroy it, and we must not falter in our commitment to its survival.
