UPDATE: 1 dead, 6 injured in shocking car crash in Beitar Illit
Private vehicle and bus collided forcefully this morning in Beitar Illit; car driver critically injured as medics and paramedics begin resuscitation efforts.
A driver, approximately 30 years old, was critically injured today (Monday) after his vehicle collided with a passing bus during the morning hours on Derech HaRamaz Street in Beitar Illit. Due to the force of the collision, one of the bus windows was completely shattered.
The incident occurred shortly after 10:00 AM. United Hatzalah and MDA medics and paramedics who arrived at the scene began providing initial medical treatment to the injured driver and performed resuscitation procedures.
Additionally, six bus passengers were lightly injured. The injured were evacuated to Hadassah Ein Kerem and Shaare Zedek hospitals in Jerusalem.
