He's coming home tomorrow, family is ecstatic
WATCH: "Dad is coming home, he's on the list" - Keith Siegel's family reacts to the news of his return
Keith Siegel’s family receives the news of his imminent release after months in captivity. In a heartwarming clip shared showing her daughter rushing to her mum with the news of her father's return.

Shir Sigal, the daughter of 64-year-old Keith Siegel, shared a deeply emotional moment with the world as she documented the news of her father's imminent release from captivity. “Shir, Dad is on the list,” her mother, Aviva Siegel, said as she received the long-awaited news that Keith, who has been held by Hamas for well over a year, is scheduled to be freed tomorrow on Shabbat.
Keith Siegel, a resident of Kibbutz Kfar Aza, was abducted during the Hamas terror attacks on October 7, 2023, alongside his wife, Aviva. Aviva was released after spending 51 days in captivity, as part of the first hostages exchange deal in November 2023. For months, the Siegel family held their breath, uncertain of Keith’s fate until a video surfaced in April showing a sign of life from him, offering a glimmer of hope for his family and loved ones.
In addition to Keith Siegel, two other hostages are also expected to be released: Yarden Bibas and Ofer Calderon. Bibas, who was kidnapped from his home in Kibbutz Nir Oz on the same day, had his wife Shiri and their young children Ariel, aged 4, and Kfir, a baby, also taken by Hamas. A distressing video surfaced earlier showing Bibas, bloodied and surrounded by a chaotic crowd, being forced into Gaza on a motorcycle.
Ofer Calderon, another victim of the October 7 attack, was abducted with his two children, Sahar and Erez. After spending 50 days in captivity, Sahar and Erez were released, but Ofer remained in Hamas custody. Now, as Keith, Yarden, and Ofer’s release is imminent, their families are finally beginning to see a long-awaited end to their agonizing ordeal.
For the families of these hostages, each sign of life, and now the confirmation of their release, is a bittersweet moment, filled with both relief and heartbreak as they reflect on the trauma and loss endured during the months of captivity. The return of Keith Siegel, along with the other hostages, brings hope to the families still waiting for the return of their loved ones, as the fragile ceasefire continues to hold.
