Hamas finally admits the obvious: Mohammad Deif is dead
Hamas Spokesperson Abu Ubaida conceded today that the IDF did indeed eliminate arch-terrorist Mohammad Deif, after claiming he was alive and well for months after the strike.

Hamas spokesperson Abu Ubaida conceded in a speech today (Thursday) that the IDF did in fact successfully eliminate arch-terrorist Mohammad Deif in an air strike on July 13, 2024.
Abu Ubaida also admitted that the IDF had eliminated multiple other senior Hamas commanders, including Marwan Issa. Earlier today, the IDF released footage showing the strike that eliminated Issa.
Although the IDF used very heavy ordinance on and around the area where Mohammad Deif was suspected to be located, it did not officially declare the strike successful until three weeks later, when they felt confident enough to make it official.
Multiple reports following the strike spoke of Hamas leaders closely guarding the hospital where the strike victims were kept, alive or dead, in an effort to possibly hide the fact of the death of Deif, a revered figure and leader in Gaza.
According to one Kann report, Deif was buried secretly in an undisclosed location, to prevent Israel from finding his body and making use of it, as it has with the body of Yahya Sinwar, who was eliminated three months later and whose corpse is presently in an undisclosed location.
Until today, Hamas leaders, especially those abroad like Mohammad Hamdan, repeatedly denied that Deif was dead, claiming that he was "alive and well" and that Israel was merely conducting psychological warfare.
Mohammad Deif was one of the terrorist group's most influential leaders going back to its early days, and he survived multiple assassination attempts before the IDF finally eliminated him last year.
Along with Yahya Sinwar and a small, select group of Hamas leaders, he helped build Hamas from a small terrorist group into an irregular terrorist army, and helped to plan and execute the October 7 attack on Israel. He then helped to direct Hamas' operations against the IDF's offensive until he was finally located and killed.
