Arbel Yehud's Family Publishes Message Following her Release

Arbel Yehud’s release from Hamas captivity marked a bittersweet moment for her family and supporters after enduring months of unimaginable suffering. The world witnessed the horrific video of Arbel being led through a hostile Hamas crowd, an agonizing scene that highlighted the cruelty of her captors and intensified the pressure to bring her home.

As part of the complex hostage deal, her release became a focal point in the broader negotiations, which were fraught with tension and uncertainty. Arbel’s family fought tirelessly, alongside countless others, for her freedom, and while her release was a much-anticipated victory, the mission is far from complete. Despite the relief of bringing Arbel home, her loved ones continue to push for the safe return of all hostages still held by Hamas, including Arbel’s partner, Ariel, and her brother, David.

However we can all breathe a sigh of relief that she is safe with her family after the emotional rollercoaster following the Hamas parade in light of her release. Tensions were at an all time high as to if she would even make it through the crowd without being killed, with all of us praying she would make it out of Gaza safely.

Gili Cohen published a Message from the Families' Headquarters for the Return of the Hostages, Arbel Yehud's family requested to convey:

"Our life's mission, to bring Arbel back to us, has succeeded, and we are overwhelmed and very excited. Ahead of us lies another life journey of family rehabilitation. A bereaved family, mourning and missing our Dolav. We would like, of course, to thank everyone who made Arbel's release possible. Thank you to the masses, who work day and night in the struggle to bring back all our loved ones, and who have not given up over these painful, difficult, and too long months. Among all this, our hearts are with all the families who paid the heaviest price of all, and all those people who gave of themselves and were harmed in body and soul. Our Arbel has been returned. And yet, our mission is still not complete. Ariel, Arbel's partner, is still being held captive in Gaza. So too are her brother David, her good friend Sasha, the other captives from Nir Oz, and all our loved ones. We will not relent until all the hostages are released. We urge everyone not to allow the door that has opened to close. We must bring everyone home immediately, so we can heal as a society. In these days following Arbel's return, despite the understandable excitement and the feeling that Arbel is the daughter of us all, we want to give Arbel the peace and space she needs now, and therefore ask everyone to respect her privacy and ours."
