HOLON, Israel — In an emotional statement released today, the family of Agam Berger expressed profound relief and gratitude following her release after 482 days in Hamas captivity.

"Thank God we have reached this moment," the family stated, describing their daughter as "strong, faithful, and brave" throughout her ordeal. The 20-year-old IDF soldier was among those taken captive during the October 7, 2023 attack on Israel.

The Berger family extended their appreciation to Israel's security forces and acknowledged the widespread public support that helped sustain them through their 16-month ordeal. "We wish to thank the security forces and all the people of Israel for all the support and prayers," they said.

While celebrating their daughter's return, the family emphasized that their journey – and that of many others – is far from over. "Now Agam and we can begin the rehabilitation process," they noted, adding pointedly that "the rehabilitation will not be complete until all the hostages return home."
