Hamas has provided Qatar and Egypt with the names of three Israeli hostages to be released tomorrow, alongside five Thai nationals, marking a crucial development in ongoing negotiations.
Gadi Moses (80), an internationally renowned agronomist and peace activist, will finally return home after spending his 80th birthday in captivity this March. Moses was captured outside his home when Hamas terrorists invaded Kibbutz Nir Oz on October 7, 2023. His release carries particular poignancy as he is the last remaining captive from the Katz-Moses-Asher family. The attack claimed the life of his partner Efrat Katz, while his ex-wife Margalit Moses was released after 49 days in captivity. Efrat's daughter Doron and granddaughters Aviv and Raz were freed during the first hostage exchange.
In December 2023, Moses appeared in a video alongside Elad Katzir, pleading with the Israeli government to negotiate their release. Tragically, Katzir was later murdered in captivity, with his body recovered by IDF soldiers in April. Before his captivity, Moses worked extensively in wastewater management and field crops, while advocating for Palestinian rights and peace initiatives.
Arbel Yehud (29) will also be freed tomorrow. Yehud was taken from Kibbutz Nir Oz with her partner Ariel Kunio during the October 7 attack. Hamas terrorists murdered Yehud's sister Dolev, as well as the couple's dog.
Agam Berger (19), a military lookout stationed at Nahal Oz, had been on duty for just one day when she was captured during the October 7 attacks.
Earlier this year, Moses's granddaughter Shani traveled to New York City with her father Yair to raise awareness about her grandfather's situation. "My hope is he's staying strong. I know my grandfather is a really strong person," she said during the visit, after Moses had marked 100 days in captivity.
This announcement comes following intensive negotiations through Qatari and Egyptian mediators, with the families approving the release of this information.
