A 40-year-old woman and an infant were killed earlier today (Monday) in a horrific traffic accident near the Amakim interchange in Israel. The crash, which occurred around 12:30 PM, involved four vehicles and a truck.
"This is a very difficult scene - an accident involving four vehicles and a truck," reported United Hatzalah EMTs Chaim Gitter, Moshe Auerbach, and Chaim Spielberg. "A woman around 40 and a one-year-old baby were killed and pronounced dead at the scene due to the severe nature of their injuries."
According to ZAKA emergency services, the incident took place "on Highway 75, near the Haamakim interchange, [involving] 2 private vehicles and a truck, with 2 fatalities at the scene, a 40-year-old woman and an infant about six months old."
Magen David Adom (MDA) reported treating and evacuating "6 casualties to Rambam Hospital, including a 40-year-old man and a 3-year-old in serious condition, and 4 people with light injuries."
The Israel Police stated that "traffic accident investigators from the Asher region have begun investigating the circumstances of a fatal traffic accident that occurred shortly ago on Highway 6 near the Oranim interchange, during which a truck hit several vehicles."
MDA emergency responders confirmed they "pronounced the death of 2 casualties" at the scene, noting head and limb injuries, while providing medical treatment and evacuation services to the six injured individuals.
