As Israel already suspected

Hamas' Hostage List: How many are alive and how many are deceased?

The latest hostage report shows that the majority of hostages set to be released in Phase one of the deal are still living as a new release schedule is confirmed for Thursday.

Hamas appears to be securing major concessions while simultaneously releasing crucial information about remaining hostages. The terrorist organization has achieved several key objectives, including the unrestricted return of Palestinians to northern Gaza without weapons inspections, despite previous agreements requiring them to be unarmed.

Intelligence sources report that Hamas is set to regain full control of northern Gaza, marking a substantial change in the region's power dynamics. The area, which was largely depopulated during recent fighting with only 200,000 residents remaining, is expected to see a massive demographic shift as more than 1.5 million Gazans prepare to return.

Meanwhile, in a parallel development regarding the hostage crisis, Hamas has provided Israel with a crucial status report on remaining captives, revealing that 18 hostages are still alive while eight are deceased. The information, delivered after a 24-hour delay, largely confirms Israeli intelligence assessments about the captives' conditions.

The current hostage release agreement, which has already facilitated the return of seven individuals from the original group of 33, continues to progress. Negotiators recently secured a breakthrough, scheduling the release of two female hostages, Arbel Yehud and Agam Berger, along with a third captive, believed to be Keith Siegel, for Thursday. An additional three male hostages are set to be freed on Saturday.

Following receipt of Hamas's list, families of hostages who were previously uncertain about their loved ones' fate have received devastating updates: The information provided confirms serious concerns about their survival.

However, officials emphasize that no deaths can be conclusively confirmed until the bodies are returned to Israel and undergo proper identification procedures.

These developments occur against a backdrop of evolving regional dynamics, with Hamas appearing to strengthen its position while participating in the hostage release process.

The agreement stipulates that living hostages will be prioritized for release before the remains of the deceased are returned, though concerns persist about weapons smuggling and enforcement mechanisms in the newly accessible northern regions of Gaza.

These concurrent developments - the unrestricted return of Palestinians, Hamas's territorial control, and the hostage release process - could indicate a significant shift in the conflict's trajectory, with long-term implications.
