Soldiers from the undercover unit of the Border Police opened fire late last night (Sunday) at a terrorist who threw an explosive device and endangered their lives near Qalandia Checkpoint north of Jerusalem.

The terrorist was eliminated following the shooting that was carried out at him, our forces are safe.

This attempted attack is reminiscent of the fact that only a week ago, a terrorist arrived at Qalandia Checkpoint on foot with a knife drawn in his hand with the intention of attacking the fighters.

The crossing forces carried out a procedure for apprehending a suspect that ended with firing in the air and the terrorist threw the knife. The soldiers at the crossing overpowered him and detained him for further interrogation.

This is another case in a series of many terrorist incidents in the past year of terrorists arriving at crossings throughout the country in order to harm fighters. They also do this by running over them, when instead of stopping for a check, they accelerate their vehicle toward the checkpoint where fighters are stationed.
