Dramatic Development: Hamas Agrees to Release 6 HOSTAGES THIS WEEK

In a significant development, Hamas has agreed to release six hostages in the coming week, marking a notable shift in the ongoing negotiations. Qatar's Foreign Ministry announced today (Sunday) that, in response to pressure, Hamas will release three hostages before Friday and another three on Saturday.

The six hostages to be released include Israeli civilian Arbel Yehud and two others, who will be freed before the end of this week. A spokesperson from the Qatari Foreign Ministry confirmed these agreements between Israel and Hamas, specifying that the release of the first three hostages will occur by Friday.

Starting tomorrow, Israel will also open the Netzarin corridor, allowing residents of northern Gaza to return to their homes. This move is part of broader efforts to ease the humanitarian situation in Gaza while fulfilling commitments made in the ceasefire and negotiations.

A key element of the agreement is that, on Thursday, Arbel Yehud, soldier Agam Berger, and one other hostage will be released. This marks a turning point after intense negotiations, in which Hamas agreed to these releases despite initial resistance.

On Saturday, three additional hostages are scheduled to be freed under the same deal. Meanwhile, Israel will provide Hamas with a list of 400 Gazans detained during the ground operation in the wake of the October 7 attacks. These detainees will be addressed in later phases of the agreement.

The Prime Minister’s Office confirmed that the names of those to be released in the first phase of the agreement have been shared by Hamas, along with updates on their conditions. It was further stressed that Israel would hold Hamas accountable for any violations of the agreement, emphasizing its commitment to bringing all captives home—both living and deceased.

The announcement comes after a period of intense negotiations, with both sides finally reaching a breakthrough that could provide relief to the families of the hostages and mark a significant step in the ongoing conflict.

The Prime Minister's Office confirmed the news with the following statement:

After conducting firm and resolute negotiations led by Prime Minister Netanyahu, Hamas has retreated and will carry out another phase of hostage releases this coming Thursday. In this phase, civilian Arbel Yehud, soldier Agam Berger, and another hostage will be released.

Additionally, three more hostages will be released this coming Saturday according to the agreement. Meanwhile, Israel has received from Hamas a list detailing the condition of all the hostages who are supposed to be released in Phase A.

As part of these agreements, Israel will allow the passage of Gazans to the northern part of the Strip starting tomorrow morning. The Prime Minister reiterates that Israel will not tolerate any violation of the agreement. We will continue to work towards bringing all our captives home—both the living and the fallen.

According to Channel 12 reporter Yaron Avraham, all three of the hostages to be released on Saturday are living male hostages.
