Saudi news channel Al-Hadath reports that Trump's Gaza evacuation plan involves temporarily relocating Palestinians to three Arab countries and one Asian nation, citing an anonymous senior source. The proposed moves would last 3-12 months, with returns planned for early 2026.
The three-phase plan faces resistance from Egypt, which has already expressed opposition to Palestinian relocation.
Speaking last night (Saturday), Trump said Jordan and Egypt should accept Gaza refugees: "It's about 1.5 million people. It could be temporary or long-term." He plans to discuss this with Egyptian President el-Sisi later today.
Trump described Gaza as "a mess" and suggested the solution is to "take this whole thing and say 'You know what, it's over.'" It's highly unlikely that Israel will go along with this, as Hamas still holds 90 Israelis hostage in Gaza, and have promised to continue their terror attacks in the future, even going so far as to encourage Arabs in Judea and Samaria to launch further attacks immediately.
In addition to this (and at the same time), his administration just stopped the embargo on all 2,000 pound bombs to Israel.
Both Jordan and Egypt have strongly rejected accepting refugees since the war began, a position previously accepted by the Biden administration.
