Despite several violations of the hostage agreement by Hamas, Israel is looking forward to this Shabbat when three more hostages will be released from captivity.
After the release of Romi Gonen, Doron Steinbrecher and Emily Damari in the first phase, last night the four female observers – Liri Elbag, Naama Levy, Karina Aryev and Daniella Gilboa – were released as part of the second phase. Although the third phase is expected to take place on Saturday, Israel is demanding the release of Arbel Yehud even before then.
In contrast to the release of the four hostages last night, starting this Saturday, three hostages will be released every Saturday. In Israel, it is estimated that if Arbel Yehud is not released before Saturday, the next list of those released will look like this: Arbel Yehud, Agam Berger and Keith Siegel.
It should be recalled that Arbel Yehud was supposed to be released yesterday, but Hamas violated the agreement and she remained in captivity. Israel made it clear to Hamas that until she is released, there will be no Gazans crossing into the northern Gaza Strip, as stipulated in the agreement.
