The Ziv Medical Center in Safed announced this morning (Friday) the death of a 13-year-old boy, who arrived at the center last night in serious condition after resuscitation in the field. The boy was suffering from mild symptoms and was suspected of suffering from pneumonia. He was treated in the community, but yesterday evening his condition worsened.
His parents evacuated him to the hotline, and from there he was rushed to the medical center while performing CPR. Upon his arrival, he was anesthetized and ventilated. Despite the efforts of the medical staff, the boy died shortly after arriving at the hospital.
The exact cause of the tragic incident has not yet been clarified. However, there is a suspicion that this is a complication caused by the flu. Investigations into the matter are ongoing, and at this stage it is not possible to determine the final cause.
At Ziv Medical Center, they emphasized the importance of early identification of abnormal medical symptoms, and quick referral to treatment centers in cases of deterioration of the health condition. They also noted that steps can be taken to prevent diseases through seasonal vaccinations and maintaining personal hygiene.
The center's management expressed its condolences to the boy's family and asked that their privacy be respected during this difficult time. Additional details will be provided after the completion of the medical examinations and with the approval of the family.
