Terror showing its true colours

Shocking? Hamas Leader Calls October 7 Attack a “Source of Pride,” Promises More Violence

In a defiant speech from Qatar, Hamas leader Khalil al-Hayya declared that the October 7 attack on Israel was a "source of pride" for his people, marking another ominous promise of continued violence.

Despite over 45,000 reported casualties in Gaza and widespread destruction following 15 months of conflict, al-Hayya showed no remorse, instead reaffirming Hamas’s commitment to ongoing aggression against Israel.

Al-Hayya, who has taken on a more prominent role as one of Hamas's acting leaders following the death of Yahya Sinwar in October 2024, emphasized that the October 7 assault would not be an isolated incident. "Our people will expel the occupation from our lands and from Jerusalem in the earliest time possible," he declared, indicating that further attacks and resistance against Israel are imminent.

The remarks come at a time when Gaza has been left in ruins, and the region is grappling with the aftermath of a prolonged war. However, al-Hayya’s words reveal Hamas's unyielding resolve to continue their violent campaign, and his speech painted a picture of unwavering defiance in the face of the heavy toll on Gaza's civilians.

The leadership of Hamas, including figures like al-Hayya, Khaled Mashal, Zaher Jabarin, Muhammad Ismail Darwish, and Mohammed Sinwar, continue to propagate the group's ideology, promising more attacks as part of their broader agenda. This leadership cohort has maintained its grip on the organization, despite significant losses and the decimation of Gaza.

Meanwhile, celebrations erupted in Gaza as people shouted slogans in support of Mohammed Deif, a key figure in the October 7 attack and a high-ranking leader within Hamas’s military wing, the Al-Qassam Brigades. The chants, such as “We are the men of Mohammed Deif!” and “Salute to the Al-Qassam Brigades!” were heard as Gazans marked the news of a temporary ceasefire, signaling continued loyalty and resolve to carry on the fight.
