What kind of victory is this?

The Turkish news site 10HABER revealed that a Hamas political wing delegation visited the country's intelligence service (MIT) building in Istanbul on October 7, 2023. In the article, which contained unprecedented harsh criticism against Hamas, the author attacked the terror organization: "What victory are you talking about? You brutally killed 1,200 Israelis and gave Netanyahu an excuse to kill 46,000 people."

According to the article, published on Tuesday, Hamas' political wing members arrived at MIT headquarters in Istanbul on the morning of October 7, 2023, to meet with Turkish intelligence officials. During the meeting, news of the invasion and massacre began flowing from Israel and Gaza, and Hamas members present shouted "Allahu Akbar" and "screamed with joy." At this point, according to the report, those present didn't know how many people had been killed in the terror organization's attack.

The article states that while Hamas members celebrated, MIT officials remained silent. A Turkish intelligence representative asked them: "You executed an impressive operation, truly unexpected. But what's phase two? Have you thought about it? Now you've made it 0:1 against Israel, but they won't just make it 1:1. Do you have an objective or second step?"

Faced with these questions, Hamas's representatives remained silent. The Turkish intelligence official continued: "Know that Israel won't make it 1-1. It won't end at 2:1, nor at 3:1 or 4:1. We know Netanyahu and Israel. They'll make it 10:1, or even 12:1. Do you have a second move or plan against this?"

Turkish intelligence officials concluded that the Hamas delegation wasn't even aware of the massacre, and therefore hadn't thought about the day after. During that meeting, MIT's message to Hamas was: "Don't rely too much on Iran."

The article's author slammed Hamas, which he said caused "enormous suffering in Gaza."

He added, "I watched for minutes as masked men in Gaza celebrated and raised their hands in victory. I watched in amazement," he shared. "I watched while screaming inside 'my friends, what kind of victory is this?' Don't you see the destruction behind you? Friends, what victory is this? Don't you ever look at this balance? 46,000 people killed, more than 100,000 wounded. Some will live with these wounds, these amputated arms and legs, for the rest of their lives. More than a million people expelled from their homes. 90% of homes and workplaces in Gaza are in ruins, schools and hospitals flattened. Electricity is gone. You've lost all your regional allies, your leadership has vanished. All your regional allies were defeated. Your closest supporter, Hezbollah, isn't even on its knees - it's lying on the ground."

"Israel entered Lebanon," the author continued. "Tons of bombs fall on your allies in Yemen daily. Assad, the only leader who supported you militarily as a state, fled. His successors say 'we won't allow more actions against Israel from Syria.' All your leadership team was killed. Not one, but two or three future generations were destroyed. You sit and make victory signs, what victory is this? Can there be victory in such a war?

"Friends, why did you carry out the bloody attack on October 7? Why did you brutally murder 1,200 people, young and old, men and women, and those enjoying the music festival? Why take hundreds of people and cause dozens to die underground? Why did you give a beast like Netanyahu an excuse to brutally murder 46,000 people? Now the war is over, just know that the fingers pointed yesterday at Israel will now point at Hamas."

The author added: "Tell me, did you gain anything from this cruel race? What did you win? World public support? The world didn't support you. It supported the children, women, elderly, and innocent civilians who died. Don't think the people marching and shouting worldwide against Netanyahu supported your cruel attack. Now the bloodshed has stopped."

Finally, the author warned Hamas: "Be sure that the accusing fingers pointing at Netanyahu worldwide will now turn to you too, because now we know that if Hamas's irresponsible military wing doesn't come to its senses, the Palestinian people won't see happiness either. Therefore, whoever wants real peace in Gaza must now deliver the necessary message to these irresponsible men, who are already making victory signs with their two fingers - open like a V: Netanyahu is a war criminal. But oh, Hamas, you are not innocent either," he concluded.
