President Donald Trump's people have begun to formulate and promote the second phase of the deal with Hamas. They even admitted that there may be difficulties on the way to the next stage and blamed the Biden administration for this: "What he left us is the end of the beginning, not the beginning of the end," Politico reported on Tuesday.
"We are considering going to the Middle East, but not at the moment. We have a very important issue – the hostages who are coming back now, and they are coming back," Trump said when asked when he planned to visit Israel, adding that "some of them were badly injured, like the young woman we saw with her hand who was seriously injured (Emily Damari)."
Trump continued to attack Biden and blame him for the massacres: "If I hadn't been here, they would never have come back. They would all die. If it had been dealt with a year earlier, if Biden had taken action a year and a half or two years ago, it would not have happened. October 7 should not have happened. But due to weakness, they allowed it to happen. This is a disaster."
The US president claimed that only when he set a deadline did the deal take place, stressing: "We are getting the hostages back – which would never have happened under Biden. They would never come back, they just died little by little."
