A senior Hezbollah official, Mohammed Hamadi, was assassinated Wednesday evening in his village of Mashghara in Lebanon's Bekaa Valley. According to initial reports, unknown assailants approached in two vehicles before firing multiple shots at Hamadi and quickly fleeing the scene.

Witnesses report that Hamadi was shot six times in the attack. The identities of the attackers and their motives remain unclear at this time.

The assassination comes amid ongoing regional tensions. Security forces have launched an investigation into the incident, though no group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.

It is worth noting that this comes after a senior Hezbollah official told Al-Mayadeen channel that Israel must commit to withdrawing from all Lebanese territories by this coming Sunday: "If it does not do so, Monday will be a different day."
