A vow fulfilled
"You promised and you did It" : Oron Shaul's mother's gratitude to Benjamin Netanyahu
The Prime Minister shares a poignant moment with Oron Shaul’s mother as he vows to bring all captives home.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a poignant conversation with Zehava Shaul, the mother of Staff Sergeant Oron Shaul, who fell during Operation Protective Edge in 2014. Two days ago, in a military operation, Oron’s remains were recovered, bringing closure to a years-long mission.
During their conversation, Zehava Shaul expressed her gratitude, telling the Prime Minister, “You promised to bring him back – and you did so.” Netanyahu responded by affirming that this mission had remained a priority for him since Oron’s sacrifice, stating, “Now, we have completed this mission.”
Together, they recited the biblical verse from Jeremiah 31:16: “There is hope for your future, says the Lord, and your children shall return to their own border.”
Netanyahu emphasized his ongoing commitment to bringing closure and freedom to all Israeli captives and the fallen. “Just as we promised to return Oron for burial, as we have returned most of our hostages from Hamas captivity, we will not rest or be silent until we also bring home Hadar Goldin, of blessed memory, and all of our hostages - living and deceased. We will achieve all the objectives of the war in Gaza,” he declared.
