"After 471 days, Our sisters have returned home" - Initial responses to the hostages released come flooding in

On the first day of the hostage deal with Hamas; Romi Gonen, Doron Steinbrecher and Emily Damari are now in Israeli hands being escorted by an elite unit of the IDF and an ISA force on their way back to Israel, where they will undergo an initial medical evaluation. News of their release has been received across Israel with open arms and an emotional heart as we see 3 of our girls coming home after 471 days in Hamas captivity.

Chairman of Shas, Rabbi Aryeh Deri:

"Give thanks to the Lord for He is good, for His kindness endures forever!" Together with all the people of Israel, I am excited to see Romi Gonen, Doron Steinbrecher, and Emily Damari – three of our sisters who were brutally kidnapped on October 7 by Hamas terrorists, returning home today after 471 days! I wish them a swift reunion with their families in good health, and I pray for the release of all the hostages – that the living may return to their families and the fallen may be brought to their resting place in Israel with honor. The State of Israel is committed to bringing everyone home with God's help; this is our moral and Jewish duty!

Prime Minister's Office:

The Government of Israel embraces the three returnees. Their families have been updated by the relevant authorities that they have joined our forces. The Government of Israel is committed to the return of all hostages and missing persons. Our Citizens List: Gonen Romi (24). Damari Emily (28). Steinbrucker Doron (31). The government, along with all security agencies, will accompany them and their families. "Blessed are You, Lord - who releases the captives."

Announcement from the Families' Headquarters for the Return of the Hostages:

Emily, Doron, and Romi are coming home! After 471 days of tormenting captivity, Emily, Doron, and Romi are returning home – to their families who tirelessly worked for their release, to friends who prayed for their well-being, and to a whole nation that believed this day would come. Their return today symbolizes a moment of light within the darkness, a moment of hope and a victory of spirit. For the families and for all of us, this is a moment that will not be forgotten. Your return reminds us of the heavy responsibility to continue working for the release of everyone until the last hostage is brought home. - Spokesperson for the Families' Headquarters for the Return of the Hostages

Chairman of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, MK Yuli Edelstein, on the release of the captives Romi, Doron, and Emily from the terrorist organization Hamas:

"Turning the hourglass from one big nightmare to one big rehabilitation." These words from Eitan Gonen, Romi's father, summarize our mission now. To bring everyone home and restore the lives of the captives, their families, and all of Israeli society. We will not relent in achieving the war's objectives and dismantling the Hamas terrorist organization's rule, so that Gaza no longer poses a threat to Israel. "Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the Universe, who has given us life, sustained us, and brought us to this time."

Chair of the Knesset Lobby for the Abducted, MK Shali Tal Miron (Yesh Atid): And let the girls return to their borders
