Emily Damari, kidnapped from her home in Kibbutz Kfar Aza in the Dor Hatzair neighborhood on October 7, is scheduled to be one of the first 3 hostages released today (Sunday).
On the morning of October 7, Damari was abducted from her apartment in Kfar Aza, along with 37 other residents of her kibbutz, during the brutal Hamas invasion.
Bar Kislev, a friend of Damari’s, recounted to Israel’s Channel 12 that she witnessed Damari’s vehicle being driven around the kibbutz at approximately 11 a.m. that same day.
According to Damari’s mother, Mandy, the terrorists "shot her in the hand, injured her leg with shrapnel, blindfolded her, and forced her into the back of her own car before driving her to Gaza."
Adding to the horror, the invading terrorists also killed Damari’s beloved dog, Choocha, shooting him in the back of the neck.
She born on June 10, 1996 in Kibbutz Kfar Aza. She is the daughter of Mandy and Avichai and has 3 younger sisters - Laban, Tam and Sean.
According to her family, Emily loves to live the good life: karaoke with friends, barbecue events, good restaurants, vacations, the beach and sports are just some of her hobbies. She loves to host her friends and family; family is a supreme value for her, and everyone who is close to her benefits from it.
She is full of joy of life, energies of love and light. Every place she is in becomes pleasant, full of laughter and joy.
While in captivity, her aunt Pazit Damari wrote: "How does she celebrate? Is she alone? Does she know she has a birthday? Are they humiliating her? Are they beating her? Undressing her with a look? Who knows? How can the country not tremble that there are so many people there who have done nothing wrong except to be in their own homes and just wait for them to come to their rescue? How is it okay that we moved on? For entertainment programs, billboards about a new delicacy, parties and performances. For celebrations. How?? Is there anything more important than saving them? But we will not stop fighting, we will continue to fight with all our might to get Emily out of captivity along with the rest of the hostages."
