Gunman Intervenes: Assailant killed after stabbing leaves one seriously wounded on busy Tel Aviv street an hour before the end of Shabbat.

A stabbing attack occurred in central Tel Aviv earlier this afternoon (Shabbat), leaving one person severely injured. The incident took place in the restaurant district on Levontin Street around 4:30 PM local time, approximately one hour before the end of Shabbat.

According to police reports, the attacker, identified as Salah Yahya, a 19-year-old Palestinian from Tulkarem who was in Israel illegally, stabbed a civilian in the restaurant area. The victim was rushed to Ichilov Hospital with serious injuries.

An armed civilian bystander responded to the attack by shooting and neutralizing the assailant. Tel Aviv District Police, supported by helicopter units, immediately deployed to the scene and conducted extensive searches of the surrounding area.

Tel Aviv District Police Commander Chief Superintendent Haim Sargrof arrived at the location to oversee the police response and conduct a situation assessment with local commanders.

Law enforcement maintains an active presence in the area as the investigation continues.
